The Mismatch Experiment

I’m experimenting with pairing images that don’t obviously fit together and I try not to think about it too much. Often a connection appears afterwards but I’m even happier when there’s there that odd sense of dislocation and they don’t.

More Mis/Matching

More in my Mis/match series. I’ve been pretty fatigued and symptomatic since the beginning of the year and wanted to create a photo project that would speak to my experience of feeling on the edge, never quite fitting in (esp re: invisible illness). I also wanted something that wasn’t going to exhaust me too much. I’m experimenting with pairing images that don’t obviously fit together and I try not to think about it too much. Often a connection appears afterwards but I’m even happier when there’s there that odd sense of dislocation when the images don’t sit well together. I’m enjoying easing the pressure on myself and allowing the process to be as important as the outcome.
