‘The One I Love’ was exhibited at Free Space Project, Kentish Town in 2017. I took portraits of people who lived with chronic invisible illness and interviewed them about the relationship they had with their pets. Because my own experience with a chronic health condition was an inspiration for the work I decided to include myself in the exhibition.
The View from Here began as a result of being too ill to even sit up in bed. I began by taking photographs on my phone, playing around with various apps in order to edit them. I now use a camera for this ongoing project. The work feels particularly resonant as we live with the challenges of a global pandemic.
A series of intimate portraits of my mother who I live with. Our relationship has altered as I take on the role of carer. We spend a great deal of time together and these images are as much about love and intimacy as they are a documentation of her in later life.
